Launch EMS

After you install EMS on your desktop, a shortcut icon is placed on your desktop. The Start menu also includes the application. Double-click the desktop icon to launch the EMS application, or select it from your Start menu.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On your desktop, double-click the EMS icon.

    • Open the Windows Start menu, in Search, enter EMS and then select EMS.

The application launches and prompts you to enter your credentials.

If you are the first person to log in to the EMS application at your organization, a dialog opens where you enter the information for the login server and database that your application is accessing. (These are set up during implementation.) After you enter this information, the EMS Login dialog opens.

  2. Enter your User ID and Password.

  3. Click OK.

    The EMS Desktop Client opens.

If you have an EMS Enterprise license, you can change the server and database you are connecting to by right-clicking on the About EMS Enterprise option.

The Provide Server Parameters dialog appears. Enter a server and database, then click OK.

For security reasons, after you log in to EMS the first time using “admin” as both the username and password, we recommend that you change the account password. Ideally, you should create an entirely new administrator account with a new username and password.
