Neighborhoods
EMS Flex neighborhoods provide an optional way to organize groups of spaces within a floor plan. Neighborhoods do not restrict who can book a space within the neighborhood. In Preferences, users can set a favorite neighborhood for easy identification on the floor plan. You create neighborhoods on floors within a building.
As a best practice, assign spaces to a floor first, then create the neighborhood.
-
Click Configuration > Facilities > Buildings & floors.
-
In the Buildings & floors list, select a building and then a floor.
The floor plan displays.
-
Turn on Show neighborhoods, then click Create neighborhood.
-
In Neighborhood name, enter a name. Do not click Save yet.
-
On the floor plan click, hold, and drag a marquee around a group of spaces.
The number of selected spaces shows next to the Neighborhood name.
-
Click Save.
Update or Delete a Neighborhood
If you want to delete a neighborhood, first remove all assigned rooms and spaces from the neighborhood.
-
In the Spaces and neighborhoods list, double click a neighborhood name.
-
In Update neighborhood, do one of the following:
-
Enter a new name and click Update.
-
Click Delete.
-
Add a Space to an Existing Neighborhood
You can add a space to an existing neighborhood if empty adjacent spaces are available on the floor plan.
-
In the Spaces & neighborhoods list, find the neighborhood to which you want to add a space.
-
Do one of the following:
-
In the same list drag a space into the neighborhood in the list.
-
Double click a space in the list. In Update space > Neighborhood, select a neighborhood and click Update.
-
The space gets added to the neighborhood on the floor plan.
Move a Neighborhood
You can move a neighborhood to another location on the floor plan. For example, you might have created a neighborhood and added a few spaces but changed your mind on the location.
As a best practice, have a group of adjacent spaces assigned to a floor plan location prior to moving the neighborhood.
Before you move the neighborhood, first remove the spaces from the neighborhood. Then you’ll add the new spaces to the neighborhood.
-
In the Spaces & neighborhoods list, expand the neighborhood.
-
In the list that shows, double-click a space in the neighborhood.
-
In Update space > Neighborhood, select None.
The space gets removed from the neighborhood. Do this for each space in the neighborhood.
-
In the Spaces & neighborhood list, double click another space to add to the neighborhood.
-
In the Update space > Neighborhood, select the neighborhood name and click Update.
Do this for each adjacent space you want to add to the neighborhood.
On the floor plan, the neighborhood appears in the new location with the assigned spaces.
