Installation and Activation of EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365

Learn how to install and activate EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365.

To update to future versions of EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365, uninstall the old version and reinstall the new version on your application server. The update will be pushed to users automatically.

ClosedInstall EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365

  1. From the downloads portal, download Ems.Web.Addin.msi.
  2. Run the .msi file on your application server.
  3. Enter the physical path for the installation.

  4. Click Next.
  5. Enter your environment's Platform Services URL and the virtual directory name you want.

  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Install.

    You may be asked to provide admin consent.

ClosedActivate/Enable EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365

We recommend that you enable the EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365 add-in for a small set of users in the first phase. This lets you test the add-in before enabling it for the team.

  1. Access Outlook using office.com.

  2. Create a new appointment on your calendar.

  3. Click add-ins area (three dots next to Delete).
  4. Click Get add-ins.

  5. Click My add-ins.

  6. Click Add a custom add-in.

  7. Select Add from URL.
  8. Enter your chosen virtual directory followed by "/manifest.xml".

    • On-prem customers – https://mycompany.com/EmsWebAddin/manifest.xml
    • Cloud customers – https://<YOURORG>.emscloudservice.com/outlook-web/manifest.xml*
  9. Click OK.

MS for Outlook – Microsoft 365 for an organization

  1. As an Exchange Administrator, navigate to the Exchange Admin Center.

  2. Select Organizations > Add-ins.

  3. Click the plus sign.

  4. Select Add from URL.

  5. Enter the manifest.xml URL for your virtual directory.

    • On-prem customers – https://mycompany.com/EmsWebAddin/manifest.xml
    • Cloud customers – https://<YOURORG>.emscloudservice.com/outlook-web/manifest.xml*
  6. Install.
