Check In

Checking into a calendar-enabled meeting or video conference meeting no longer changes the meeting start time to the time the user checked in

Now, when users check into a calendar-enabled meeting or video conference meeting from the EMS Room Sign App, the meeting start time no longer changes to the check in time.

This change was made to prevent the following issues: 

  • If the meeting was open in Outlook or Google Calendar during check in from the EMS Room Sign App and the meeting start time was changed to the EMS Room Sign App check in time, the meeting ended up with an Outlook or Google Calendar rule violation because the meeting's start time was edited while the meeting was in progress.
  • For meetings with multi-location bookings, changing the meeting start time to the check in time from the EMS Room Sign App would update the start times of all the booking locations, not just the location where check in occurred.

To simplify the EMS Room Sign App installation process, the overlay script has been integrated into the EMS patch.

API

Removed requirement to create admin user for managing EMS Room Sign API

The EMS Room Sign API was moved inside of the Room Sign App. Therefore, customers are no longer required to create an admin user to manage the API. Where required for audit trail purposes, EMS will use the user “EMS Room Sign App.”

Parameter

Updates to "Allow Extend Booking" parameter

The parameter—Allow Extend Booking—has been updated. Previously, for multi-location Exchange meetings, when the Extend button was used to extend the meeting time in one location, the meeting time was extended for all the locations.

To prevent meeting time adjustments being applied to all locations in multi-location meetings and to improve functionality, the Allow Extend Booking parameter has been updated with the following values (similar to Allow End Bookingparameter):

  • NoExtend button will not be displayed in the EMS Room Sign App.
  • Standard BookingsExtend button will be displayed for bookings that are not calendar-enabled or created on a VC template and that are not configured with setup and teardown times. Selecting Extend will extend the booking time by the number of minutes configured in EMS Room Sign App settings (typically 15 minutes).
  • Standard + Bookings with Setup and TeardownExtend button will be displayed for standard bookings with or without setup and teardown times. Selecting Extend will extend the meeting time and the teardown time by the number of minutes the meeting was extended.
  • Standard + Calendar-Enabled and VC BookingsExtend button will be displayed for all standard bookings and all calendar-enabled bookings or bookings created on a VC template; however, the Extend button will not be displayed for bookings with setup and teardown times. For calendar-enabled bookings, selecting the button will only affect the current location, not other booking locations tied to the reservation. For bookings created on a VC template, selecting the button will extend the meeting in the current location regardless of the Host. The Exchange or Google appointment will not be updated upon extend.
  • All BookingsExtend button will be displayed for all booking types. Selecting Extend will extend the meeting time, and the teardown time if applicable, by the number of minutes configured in EMS Room Sign App settings (typically 15 minutes).

AREA DESCRIPTION

LED 

LED sync color issue

When a user created a reservation during the check-in window of the next meeting, the EMS Room Sign App displayed the check-in LED color and the check-in button while displaying the reserved meeting.

Fix: Modified functionality so that the EMS Room Sign App switches to the reserved LED color until the meeting ends and then switches back to the check-in LED status color while hiding the check-in button for the future event.

Crestron Screen Display

Screen interface was being cut off on specific-model Crestron panels

For customers using Crestron panels, portions of the screen interface were being cut off on the following models and resolutions:

  • 7-inch Creston Panel at a resolution of 1024 x 600 (TSS-7-W-S-SIW KIT)
  • 10-inch Crestron Panel at a resolution of 1280 x 800 (TSS-10-B-S-SIW KIT)

Fix: Modified functionality so that the interface displays correctly.

Time Bar

Clicking different hour sections selected the same Start/End time

When selecting a time in the EMS Room Sign App, clicking a different section in the time bar resulted in the same Start/End time.

Fix: Modified functionality so that clicking on a different hour section results in the selection of a different Start/End time.

Time Bar

Time bar appeared in background when creating a reservation in portrait mode on the Samsung Tab A

When creating a reservation in portrait mode on the Samsung Tab A, users could still see the time bar in the background.

Fix: Modified functionality so that users do not see the time bar when creating a reservation on the Samsung Tab A in portrait mode.
