EMS Web App security enhancements

Enhancements have been implemented to strengthen security in the Floor Plan configuration tool. Submit an EMS Support Help Desk ticket through Accruent Access to receive additional information. When submitting a ticket, make sure to include the software update number and the EMS product name of the security enhancements.

EMS for Microsoft Exchange

Ability to support calendaring-enabled reservations with no templates

EMS Web App has been updated to support calendar-enabled reservations that are created with no specified template. This enhancement was completed so that EMS Web App can support reservations created in EMS Room Sign App. In Update 33, functionality for EMS for Microsoft Exchange has been added to EMS Room Sign App. This functionality allows users to create an Exchange reservation without specifying an everyday user process template. EMS Web App can now load and open these reservations.

Edit a Reservation

Resources removed from Service Orders

For multiple booking reservations where the bookings have a catering resource and service order, if users edited the reservation and added another resource, but did not apply it to all bookings, and then changed the service type (such as changing from buffet to a sit-down dinner), the newly added resource would be removed from the service order.

Fix: Modified functionality so that resources are not removed when users change the service type on multiple booking reservations.

Editing a booking from EMS Web App allowed users to extend booking time beyond the max number of minutes specified in the booking rule

For reservations created on a process template that had a booking rule specified for Max No. Minutes Allowed, users were able to edit bookings from these reservations and extend the time of a booking beyond the amount of time specified in the booking rule.

Fix: Modified functionality so that the when users edit a booking, the booking rule for Max No. Minutes Allowed is enforced.

Create a Reservation > Services > Special Instructions

 

HTML line break tags showed in Special Instructions

HTML line break tags (<br/>) were showing in the Special Instructions that users added to their reservations.

Fix: Restored functionality so that the HTML break tags no longer appear in the Special Instructions.

Create a Reservation

Schedule View was not showing the correct room availability

When creating a reservation with a location filter that consisted of a view instead of a building, some users were not being shown the correct availability of reserved rooms on the Schedule View of the Room Request page. Instead, Schedule View was showing all rooms as available all day, and when users tried to select a room that was reserved, they would receive an error. Note that List View worked without any issues.

Fix: Modified functionality so that users are shown the correct availability in Schedule View regardless of the selected filter.

French keyboard users were unable to input a value into the "Number of People" field

French keyboard users were unable to input a value into the "Number of People" field because EMS Web App was not accepting manual keyboard input. French keyboards require the typist to press the Shift key to enter any numerical value; however, EMS Web App did not allow users to enter a numerical value using the Shift key.

Fix: Modified functionality so that users can enter numbers in EMS Web App using the following international keyboards: 

  • French

  • Canadian French

  • Mexican Spanish

  • Polish

  • Japanese

  • Korean

Unknown field was appearing in the Attendance & Setup Type window

When a Room Type was configured to display an image in EMS Web App, some users were seeing a third, unknown field in the Attendance & Setup Type pop-up window. The field had a room name or description above it, and the field was marked as required. This third, unknown field was causing the following issues: 

  • If users entered information into the field, they would receive an error.

  • If users left the field blank, they would not receive an error and could continue creating the reservation.

  • If the setup type and attendance were configured to not display (the pop-up window would not appear), then users would not be able to create the reservation. They would receive an error stating that a required field is missing.

Fix: Modified functionality so that the additional field no longer appears when a Room Type is configured to display an image in EMS Web App.

Cancellations

 

Cancel button was not available in the My Bookings section when using EMS Mobile Web App

When accessing EMS Web App on a mobile device (EMS Mobile Web App), the Cancel button appeared as unavailable because the button was being displayed as text.

Fix: Modified functionality so that the Cancel button is displayed as a button instead of text.

Language Translation

 

Some labels were being translated in the wrong language

In EMS Web App, some labels were not being translated to the selected language. For example, if a user's browser was set to display Japanese for the language, EMS Web App would display labels (such as rooms, groups, or event) in English. If a user had selected English, EMS Web App would display labels in Spanish.

Fix: Modified functionality so that EMS Web App displays labels in the selected language.

Floor Plans

 

SVG Floor Plans were not displaying in the Update 31 version of EMS Web App

When on the Update 31 version of EMS Web App, some users could not view SVG diagrams of Floor Plans. EMS Web App was unable to load SVG diagrams.

Fix: Modified functionality so that SVG diagrams can load in EMS Web App.
